Chinese Investment Delegation Arrives in Uganda, Launches First Coffee Industry Exploration Tour

Entebbe, Uganda – May 12, 2025

应乌干达政府邀请，一支由中国主要咖啡企业组成的投资代表团于2025年5月12日抵达恩德培国际机场，正式开启为期十天的“首届中国—乌干达咖啡产业考察之旅”。

At the invitation of the Ugandan government, a Chinese investment delegation comprising leading coffee enterprises arrived at Entebbe International Airport on May 12, 2025, officially launching a 10-day “First China-Uganda Coffee Industry Exploration Tour.”

此行旨在深化中乌农业合作，探索咖啡产业链投资机会，推动双方经贸交流迈向新高度。

The visit aims to deepen China-Uganda agricultural cooperation, explore investment opportunities along the coffee industry chain, and elevate bilateral economic and trade exchanges to new heights.

代表团由中国多家咖啡进口商、烘焙商及行业投资机构组成，将深入乌干达主要产区，包括东部、西部和中部的特色咖啡种植区，实地了解当地种植、加工与出口能力，并与乌干达咖农、合作社、出口商和相关政府部门展开深入交流。

The delegation includes Chinese coffee importers, roasters, and investment institutions, who will visit Uganda’s major coffee-producing regions in the east, west, and central areas. They will gain first-hand knowledge of local cultivation, processing, and export capacity, and engage in in-depth discussions with coffee farmers, cooperatives, exporters, and relevant government departments.

乌干达驻华大使翁内卡阁下（H.E. Oliver Wonekha）在机场欢迎仪式上表示：“此次考察之行标志着中乌农业合作迈入新阶段，特别是在咖啡领域，我们期待与中国伙伴建立更加紧密的投资与贸易关系。”

H.E. Oliver Wonekha, Uganda’s Ambassador to China, stated at the airport welcome ceremony: “This visit marks a new stage in China-Uganda agricultural cooperation. Especially in the coffee sector, we look forward to building closer investment and trade ties with our Chinese partners.”

本次活动由乌干达驻华大使馆，广州总领事馆以及农业、畜牧业和渔业部（MAAIF）共同组织，旨在展示乌干达咖啡产业的投资潜力，推动加工与出口合作，为广大咖啡小农创造更高价值。

This event is jointly organized by the Ugandan Embassy in China, the Consulate General in Guangzhou, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). It aims to showcase Uganda’s coffee investment potential, promote processing and export collaboration, and generate greater value for smallholder coffee farmers.

乌干达是非洲最大的罗布斯塔咖啡出口国，同时在特色阿拉比卡咖啡领域也日益受到国际市场关注。

Uganda is Africa’s largest exporter of Robusta coffee and is gaining increasing international attention for its specialty Arabica coffee.

本次行程将于5月21日结束，并将在坎帕拉举行中乌咖啡产业对接会议，推动合作协议达成，展望中乌咖啡贸易的长期发展前景。

The tour will conclude on May 21 with a China-Uganda Coffee Industry Matchmaking Conference in Kampala, aiming to facilitate cooperation agreements and chart the course for long-term development in China-Uganda coffee trade.
